Messy Sundae!

One of my favourite places in Georgia is a restaurant called Champps - and the best part about it is the messy sundae. The outside of the glass is covered in chocolate and nuts.

Check it out!!

Christmas in Georgia

Once we reached our destination we had a great time. It's been a long time since I celebrated Christmas with kids and it was very exciting. The girls are 3 and 5 and were so excited to see us (especially Mike). They were bouncing off the walls most of the week.

We had the chance to visit with all of our friends (except Wally - we missed you Wally and hope your Dad is better!).

Just wanted to post some pictures from the week.

Holiday Travel

Ok, I know I'm behind on the posting - let me catch you up.

This Christmas we spent some time in Georgia. We were staying with Mike's cousin and her family.

The trip started out pretty sketchy - the weather was questionable and we only had a short amount of time to make our connection in Dallas. Our flight was initially delayed in San Francisco for about 20 minutes. I was stressed but figured we still had enough time to dash to our gate in Dallas. Once we pushed away from the gate and were making our way to the runway I noticed a firetruck out the window beside us. I joked to Mike and said that I was glad I wasn't on the plane that guy was headed towards. Well little did I know that in a few second our plane would be completely surrounded by firetrucks who then escorted us back to the gate. Apparently there was a small fire in the engine somewhere, but after a maintenance check it was determined that the fire was "within limits" - whatever that means and we were safe to fly. They told us we could get off the plane if we wanted but because it was the holidays there were no seats available on any flights until the day after Christmas. So we stayed where we were, said a little prayer and were on our way.

After all of that, we missed our connecting flight in Dallas by about 10 minutes. Because the missed connection was due to a maintenance issue (and not weather) the airline put us up in a very nice hotel for the night. Unfortunately they kept all of our baggage except the carry ons we had with us. Thankfully the hotel was prepared with toiletry kits.

The next day our flight was delayed again, but eventually we made our way to the Atlanta airport where the car rental place hooked us up with a bright red Mustang convertible. The trip was starting to look up at this point :)
